I’ve always been captivated by the intricate connections and complex interactions between mind, body, and spirit. As an undergraduate, this interest led me to the interdisciplinary field of neuroscience. With funding from the Howard Hughes Foundation, I conducted, published, and presented original research concerning how gene-environment interactions affect emotionality. Based on my research and committee defense, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience with highest honors from Mount Holyoke College.
I initially planned to follow up my undergraduate, pre-med path by studying Western medicine, yet fate intervened and turned my attention firmly towards Chinese Medicine. During this part of my journey, I witnessed firsthand the profound healing power of the ancient protocols taught by Jeffrey C. Yuen, a distinguished 88th-generation Daoist priest of the Jade Purity School lineage. This experience left an indelible mark on me, and I immediately immersed myself in Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM). This comprehensive, holistic medicine, originating over 5,000 years ago and rooted in Daoist philosophy, added the final piece missing from my earlier studies: spirit. Over the next four years, I was fortunate to study extensively under Master Yuen and other distinguished teachers at the Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC.
Now, as a general practitioner of CCM with over a decade of clinical experience in treating a vast range of conditions, I emphasize preventative care to maintain mind-body-spirit harmony. However, if injury, disharmony, or disease should arise, my priority is to alleviate any immediate distress before addressing root causes. I utilize all five CCM meridian systems (Sinew, Luo, Primary, Divergent, and Eight Extraordinary), each with distinct meridians/channels, functions, qualities, and potentialities to correct the flow of qi throughout the body and release pathology. I also offer various Alchemical Healing treatments to facilitate the release of obstructions that restrict and confound our ability to be fully present, to live authentically, and to follow our true paths.
I see one patient at a time for the duration of each appointment. This allows me to focus my full and undivided attention throughout the treatment on patient pulses and other diagnostic indicators so that I can choose CCM modalities that are best suited to return patients to a state of wellness. Depending on each patient’s unique clinical presentation, these modalities may include acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, acupressure, electro-acupuncture, herbal and essential oil prescriptions, and dietary/nutritional recommendations. Fear of needles should not deter anyone from seeking care. I have extensive training and experience combining CCM modalities to guide patients to desired health outcomes without needling.
I am ever grateful to the universe for guiding me to this path and to all those who so generously devoted their time, energy, and knowledge to enable me to find a place within this ancient, yet ever-evolving field of medicine. As I continue onward, I strive to embrace every opportunity to cultivate and deepen my knowledge of CCM so that I can offer my patients the best care possible. I look forward to meeting you in the heart of downtown Northampton at the peaceful healing space provided by CLINIC Alternative Medicines, which is filled with a number of talented practitioners across many fields of the healing arts.

I have worked as a clinical social worker and victim advocate for over 25 years in Cambridge, Massachusetts. My professional work has deepened my belief and understanding that mental health symptoms are directly related to the ways in which people experience their unresolved hurts and feelings, and the complexities of societal issues that affect each individual’s inner and external experiences.
Throughout my private psychotherapy practice tenure, I have gone beyond trauma work and approached psychotherapy as a way for people to increase their quality of life in a profound and meaningful way. Everybody has a reservoir of strength inside. I have been so honored and humbled to have an opportunity to witness, through compassionate and supportive psychotherapy, how one can create deep self-understanding and true self-acceptance to experience the beauty of life.
My roots in social work go back to my own childhood experience. Growing up in the center of Tokyo, Japan, as a young girl, I witnessed many women from other Asian countries coming to Japan (in many cases, being trafficked), working in prostitution and serving Japanese men. I found a passion for advocacy centered around gender violence issues, and later came to the U.S. to study Women And Gender Studies as an undergraduate student. Since then, this work has always given me a critical compass in my life: to not bypass injustice but to bring my knowledge and skills to be part of social change, even on the most minor scale.
I earned an MSW from Boston College in 2008 and have done two-year post-MSW fellowships at the Victims of Violence Program (VOV) of the Cambridge Health Alliance; I later worked as a staff therapist in the VOV research program on PTSD. While at the Victims of Violence Program, I received weekly supervision from Judith Hearman, M.D., who helped develop my foundation of knowledge and skills as a psychotherapist, an experience that profoundly shaped my approach to therapy.
I have a training background in Psychodynamic Therapy, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Trauma Resilience Model, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My specialized areas are Anxiety, Trauma, and Relationship issues.
I provide both in-person and remote sessions. My office hours at CLINIC Alternative Medicines are from 9 am to 5 pm on Thursdays. I also offer remote sessions at flexible hours.

My passion for massage is fueled by the desire to share the pure joy, pleasure and relaxation that I experience when receiving amazing bodywork. The intention throughout our session is to hold space for you to show up just as you are and watch what unfolds for your mind-body-spirit in the presence of mindful care. My goal is to invite ease and relief from suffering. I aim for you to leave your session feeling so good that it ripples throughout the rest of your daily interactions. At its loftiest, the work I do is an invitation to participate in a cultural revolution centered in embodied joy, care, gratitude, ease, spaciousness, compassion, and liberation. I’m a gardener planting seeds. Massage is my way of making the revolution irresistible.* It is a form of pleasure activism.**
I approach bodywork from a client-centered and collaborative perspective. I bring my training, experience and curiosity to each session and you bring your life-long expertise in what it’s like to live in your body. We begin with a conversation where we go over your relevant medical history, how you are arriving at that moment, what your expectations are for the session, and whether there are areas of concern on which you would like to focus. This intake sets the foundation for the work we will do, but your goals can evolve during the course of the session and I can adjust techniques as needed. Together, we may decide to incorporate the use of a hot pack, CBD salve or cupping into the session. These add-ons are optional and offered at no additional cost. I open the bodywork with a grounding meditation. My style is slow, rhythmic and precise. I approach the body three-dimensionally with satisfying pressure and invite gentle movement into the session. While the work that we do might at times bring about strong sensation, my goal is always to stay on the side of pleasure. Causing additional pain or tensing up sends the wrong message to the nervous system and is counterproductive. Feedback is welcome at any point to help me meet your body’s needs in the moment. The bodywork often ends with re-centering and, if you’re open to it, an offering of metta or phrases of lovingkindness. At the end of your session we check in again and consider next steps before checking you out. I don’t accept tips, so you don’t have to worry about doing math in the midst of post-massage euphoria. You can just be on your blissful way and share the love.
Education, credentials and experience I graduated from the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy in Albany, NY in 2018, became a NY licensed massage therapist in 2019, and got licensed in MA in 2022. I have been studying Thai massage with Shama Kern of the Thai Healing Massage Academy since 2019. In September of 2024 I completed my certification in Sarga Bodywork, a barefoot myofascial massage method. I trained in The Joy of Grief Massage with Amy Joy Taylor of The Institute for Grief Massage in 2019 and completed a certificate on Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss with The Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath and Death in 2019. I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training with My Vinyasa Practice in 2021. I am always learning new approaches to massage and energy work.
In addition to my practice at CLINIC, I work with the People’s Medicine Project, providing massage and Spanish language support at their on-farm clinics. Prior to becoming a massage therapist I worked as a produce manager, professional gardener, organic vegetable grower, actor in theater for young audiences, non-profit arts fundraiser, museum educator and restaurant server. I studied History Museum Studies at the Cooperstown Graduate Program and have a BA in History from Amherst College. I am an avid reader with a thirst for learning new things. As a queer, multicultural, biracial Black woman I am a natural cross-pollinator and enjoy weaving interdisciplinary connections. I love yoga, meditation, being in the water, cooking, eating, dancing and singing in community. I was born in Spain and am a native Spanish speaker.

I have always been passionate about natural health - since childhood I’ve always felt best when I exercised, meditated and ate well. Looking back on my childhood, it was my father who was my inspiration for becoming a Naturopathic Doctor. He was a big believer in minimizing conventional medicine, using it when necessary, and instead focusing on lifestyle to stay well. I only became aware of Naturopathic Medicine as I explored more holistic ways to approach my own health. When I discovered that it meant using lifestyle, homeopathy and botanical medicine to help heal and optimize your health, I knew I needed to learn more.
I started to work with a Naturopathic Doctor on improving my immune system and sleep support. The work we did together was revolutionizing - not only did it change the way I looked at my health but also empowered me to take control my health. While I was earning my master’s degree at the University of Washington, I began to take classes in health and slowly realized that I wanted to have a deeper understanding of the body as a whole and to use nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy and other natural remedies to heal myself and to help others heal. Thus, my journey at Bastyr began.
As a mother and wife, I employ my Naturopathic training on a regular basis in my personal life. It plays an integral part in how my husband and I raise our child. This includes making sure she has a healthy diet, providing extra nutrients and botanicals depending on her needs, and emphasizing a lifestyle that is emotionally and physically nourishing. It isn’t always easy or a smooth process, but I am always grateful to use my education to provide our child with a strong, healthy and resilient foundation.
If you are looking to get to the root cause of your illness or symptom and want to use a holistic approach to take back your health, you have come to the right place. Or maybe you are looking for solutions that don’t just mask the problem or create additional problems. Let’s work together to get you back on track with solutions that will not only provide fruitful results but will also help you feel younger, stronger and more resilient.
If you would like to schedule a free 15-minute consult, I can be reached via email at drdunn@drmaureendunn.com. For more information about me or my practice, please visit www.drmaureendunn.com.

Myk Freedman
(He/ They)
Myk is a second generation card reader focused on healing and personal insight. Rooted in a family tradition, his readings provide a compassionate space to explore your questions and find gentle guidance. This practice is all about helping you find a path forward.
Whether you’re seeking emotional clarity or a new perspective, these sessions support your journey toward balance and growth.
Myk came to tarot after having a persistent intuition that it was what he needed at that time. Through immersing himself in tarot knowledge, he reconnected with a part of his own family history. His Romanian grandmother, with whom he’d grown up, had learned to lay the cards as a teenager while in a Soviet prison for supposedly being a spy (but really just being a Jew in Eastern Europe). Among the many skills she learned while in jail was the art of reading the cards from a group of Romani women who looked after her until her eventual release. Myk’s childhood was filled with hearing the wild tales of her life. It’s through the cards, humor, and storytelling that he now feels a deep connection to her and the wisdom she shared with him over the years.
Myk believes that we are often discouraged from making decisions not rooted in logic, yet much of life is mysterious, even when thoroughly examined. Tarot is a tool that can help us explore other aspects of ourselves and bring intuition into our daily lives. It’s an experience full of wonder, excitement, and fun.
A tarot reading is a collaborative process between Myk, you, and the cards. The tarot can be spookily on point, but even when it’s not it’s still a wonderful way to look at an issue from unexpected angles. Myk will help clarify what the issue is, set up a spread, and tell you what the cards say in a way that is clear and meaningful to your situation. You’ll be invited to notice your own reactions, thoughts, and feelings, to the cards. Even if it feels like randomness and chance, you might try taking them seriously. What then? Through this process, your own intuition has an opportunity to come into focus.
In addition to his deep connection to his grandmother from having grown up and lived with her, he was given a treasure beyond value several years after her passing. She survived WWII, with an unusual story that spans five countries. She spoke 7 languages, raised a family and . . . wrote her entire life story down in a 2000 page manuscript that until 2022 when Myk tracked it down, no one had read.
The book starts in Bessarabia when she was 17, two days before it was taken over by the Soviet Union. It takes the reader back a generation to her mother fleeing from Odessa to Romania, then journeys deep into the Soviet Union, and eventually to Poland, Israel and Canada, capturing an incredibly detailed slice of life in each time and place, down to details of how food was prepared during the harvest in Romania, how nightly interrogations were conducted in Soviet prison, and how the women organized themselves to survive the daily horrors. For Myk, reading her book was meaningful beyond words.

My acupuncture practice began in 2006 on Main Street, as Northampton Community Acupuncture, where I offered both private sessions and community acupuncture until 2010, and then ran a thriving community acupuncture clinic from 2010-2022.
Since joining CLINIC in 2022, I’ve been enjoying offering both private and community sessions again. Having performed thousands of acupuncture treatments over the years, I continue to be both humbled and amazed by the power and elegant simplicity of this ancient medicine. My needling style is quick, gentle, often painless, and meant to help you relax immediately.
My education includes a research-focused Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and Philosophy (1994), a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture at the New England School of Acupuncture (2006), and two years apprenticing with Kiiko Matsumoto. I completed a program in Applied Astrology with astrologer and psychologist, Debra Silverman in 2023-24, and continue with ongoing studies in astrology.
I identify as non-binary (she/they), believing that our fullest expression of self is fluid, and therefore not limited to an either/or paradigm. I welcome folks of all genders to work with me in a safe, supported environment. In fact, I believe that energy medicine can be deeply healing, as a pathway for helping people become fully embodied, embracing all of who you are and integrating all that you have experienced, to reach your fullest expression.
I believe that the highest form of medicine and healing includes both intellect and intuition, the mind working with the heart, and both in alignment with spirit. What this means for how I practice is that, while I have spent thousands of hours dedicated to science, research, and learning the system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I am also an intuitive and empathic healer, and believe that both are essential to practicing medicine.
What this means for you as a client - you will be seen as a whole human being, not just a diagnosis. Why does this matter? Because the current practice of Western medicine is full of specialists, who focus on one part of the body or another. While there are benefits to developing expertise in how one specific body part or system works, the result is that the whole picture is often lost, and the context is lost.
When we can see (and be seen by others as) ALL of who we are, that allows us to BE all of who we are in the world - a gift to ourselves and to everyone around us.
ASTROLOGY OFFERINGS
I am passionate about learning, and sharing my ideas with others. I took a deep dive into studying astrology in 2023, completing the Applied Astrology program with Debra Silverman, with the intention of incorporating astrology readings as a healing modality into my current work. The studies continue, and I imagine that I may find more ways to bridge my two passions as time goes on.
Both Chinese Medicine and Astrology are an art and a science. Both require learning a new language, and they are both complete systems of understanding how we operate. Each system illuminates how every one of us is a microcosm of the whole. For me personally, astrology has helped me uncover, reclaim, and bring forth parts of my being that I hadn’t realized had been forgotten or neglected, and with this newly reclaimed joy and hopefulness, I would love to share these tools and seeds of wisdom with you! I practice Western-based astrology, and am currently studying humanistic and evolutionary astrology.

CLINIC owner and Wellness Tycoon
I graduated from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in September of 2009, with a special emphasis on Chinese medical research. I began my practice on State Street in Northampton in April of 2010. In November of 2011, I started CLINIC Alternative Medicines, so that I could better serve patients by bringing together a broader range of wellness resources under one roof, on Main Street in Northampton. I moved CLINIC to its ‘forever home’ at 53 Center Street in Northampton, finally achieving the vision I had for it even back in my acupuncture school days, in 2022. I am actively involved in improving Northampton community life, especially with my involvement in the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce, where I served as a member of the Board of Directors for 6 years.
I am a general practitioner with special emphases on pain issues and emotional and psychological stress. I love working with stressed-out women.
I am a fairly ‘feely’ acupuncturist. I believe that patients do best when they not only passively receive treatment, but when they are also able to tune in to their body and experience the changes taking place. I think it’s also important to learn to differentiate between the natural, physiological experience of change— even intense change— and pain. I am one of very few practitioners in the area who does muscular fasciculation/ trigger point needling/ ‘dry needling’ techniques, along with bleeding, cupping, and other more aggressive treatments, when appropriate. My goal is to have patients get off the table feeling better every time, and to build on that progress from appointment to appointment. I walk the line delicately between encouraging comfort and a meditative, restful moment, and intently encouraging change.
Prior to my career in Chinese medicine, I was in academic philosophy. I live in Northampton with my partner, stepchild, kindergartener, and kitty, and love doing home and garden projects, biking in all weather, pointing at audience members while singing karaoke, and being a contender at trivia. I am a former Board member for the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce, an active member of the Downtown Northampton Association, a leader of Let’s Go Downtown! (rooting on progress during the Main Street redesign), and a member of the Leadership team for Strong Towns Northampton (strongtownsnorthampton.org).

Welcome to my practice! My name is Grace, and I am a licensed massage therapist with a passion for helping my clients feel calm, safe, and rejuvenated.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UMASS Amherst, where I developed a deep understanding of the mind-body connection. I furthered my education and training at The Massage School, where I earned my massage license and honed my skills in therapeutic bodywork.
I specialize in creating personalized treatment plans to address specific body issues and promote long-term healing. This is my favorite part of the job – working closely with each client to truly get to the root of any concerns, whether it’s chronic pain, muscle tension, or stress. I integrate a variety of techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, Reiki (Level 2 practitioner), foot reflexology, aromatherapy, and cupping. By blending these modalities, I can craft a treatment that’s both therapeutic and deeply relaxing, all within a calming, spa-like atmosphere.
I have had the privilege of working at renowned locations such as Newton Chiropractic Wellness Center, Canyon Ranch Spa in Lenox, and Sunshine Thai Massage Studio in Colorado. These experiences have shaped my approach, allowing me to offer high-quality treatments that deliver lasting results, while ensuring you feel at ease every step of the way.
One of my greatest joys as a therapist is building strong, trusting relationships with my clients. I believe in taking the time to truly listen to your needs, so that together, we can create a treatment plan that helps you feel your best. I’m here to help you relax, relieve tension, and restore balance to your body and mind, and I look forward to working with you to create an experience that leaves you feeling balanced, rejuvenated, and at peace.

Nora Kennedy
(She/Her/Hers)
Hi! I’m Nora (she/ her). I am a nationally board-certified Acupuncturist licensed to practice in the state of MA. I graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture with a Masters in both Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. During my training I completed clinical internships at Boston Medical Center, Cambridge Health Alliance and MCPHS University. My academic and clinical interests include acute and chronic pain, anxiety and depression, menstrual irregularities/ women’s health, headaches/migraines, gastrointestinal disorders, immunity and Chinese dietary therapy. I am particularly interested in the intersection between traditional Chinese medicine and biomedicine.
I am also an herbalist, an educator, a mother and a partner.
I love my work as an Acupuncturist because it allows me to use my skills as a listener and a healer to bring people closer to themselves: to inhabit their bodies with more freedom and less pain. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Intellectual History from Lafayette College. Before becoming an Acupuncturist I worked in education: as a naturalist, environmental educator, farm educator and community organizer. In my work as an outdoor educator I grew to love native plants and developed an interest in plant medicine. That love led me to Western MA where I worked for Acupuncturist and herbalist William Siff, L.Ac (Goldthread Herbal Apothecary) - making medicine. When my daughters entered school - I decided to take the plunge and go back to school myself. Studying Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine has been an extraordinary journey and a source of endless fascination. I treat a wide variety of conditions and use my years of experience as an educator, a mother, a partner and an herbalist to inform my work.
When I don’t have my nose in an Acupuncture textbook you can find me drinking coffee and reading novels, poetry, science fiction and the travel section of the NY times.
